Eligibility Criteria

Transition Timeline

  • Retirees should begin the process 24-12 months before retirement, registering on the eBenefits website for pre-counseling and transition planning.
  • Non-retirees should start the process 18-12 months before separation.
  • A series of workshops and briefings are scheduled from 15-4 months prior to separation, including:
    • 15-12 months: Cross walk, GAP, identity cert., and license requirements.
    • 12-9 months: DOL Employment Workshop and issuance of DOL Gold Card.
    • 9-6 months: VA Briefings 1 & 2.
    • 6-5 months: Resume preparation.
    • 5-4 months: Post-separation budgeting.
    • No later than 3 months before separation: DD2958 (Capstone).

Program Regulations
