- Filipino architects have been transforming spaces into more livable and beautiful places through their impeccable wits, ingenuity, and creativity.
- Architecture is the art and science of designing and planning buildings and other physical structures, combining arts and sciences to fulfill both practical and expressive requirements.
Architectural Elements
- Arch: a system with curved structure used to support bridges, viaducts, and large and domical and vaulted structures.
- Dome: a system with curved-roof structure that resembles the hollow upper half of a sphere and covers an enormous amount of space.
Architectural Types
- Domestic Architecture: produced for the social unit (individual, family, or clan) and their dependents.
- Religious Architecture: concerned with the design and construction of buildings and structures for religious purposes (e.g. shrines, places of worship, funerary monuments).
- Governmental Architecture: created based on the expressive functions arising from the ideology of different systems of government and from the traditions of various offices of government.
- Recreational Architecture: produced for enjoyment, pleasure, amusement, and self-cultivation (e.g. theaters, athletic facilities, museums, and libraries).
