Self-care is a multidimensional, multifaceted process of purposeful engagement in strategies that promote healthy functioning and enhance well-being. Essentially, the term refers to a conscious action taken by a person to promote their physical, mental, and emotional health. Self-care is all about what you can do to help yourself feel better or to keep yourself feeling good. It's a way for us to look after our mental health and well-being. Everyone's approach to self-care will differ. What works for you may not work for others. There are numerous self-care strategies to try until you find one that works. The most important thing is to find something you enjoy doing. To create your self-care plan, you must identify what you value and require in your daily life (maintenance self-care) and the strategies you can use if you encounter a crisis (emergency self-care). There is no 'one-size-fits-all' self-care plan. Still, all self-care plans have one thing in common: committing to attend to all aspects of your life, such as your physical and psychological health, emotional and spiritual needs, and relationships.
