Resignation and Absence

  • The Chairman may resign by writing to the Central Government, and the resignation takes effect from the date of acceptance or 30 days from receipt, whichever is earlier.
  • A member's resignation takes effect from the date of acceptance by the Chairman or the Central Government.

Absence from India

  • A member must inform the Chairman of their departure and expected return dates before leaving India.
  • If a member intends to be absent for over six months, they must tender their resignation.
  • Failure to notify the Chairman before leaving India results in deemed resignation from the date of departure.

Notification of Vacancies

  • The Chairman must inform the Central Government of a vacancy in the Committee due to resignation or death.
  • In the event of the Chairman's death, the Chief Inspector or Inspector must inform the Central Government.

Disposal of Business

  • The Committee considers questions at meetings or through circulated papers, as directed by the Chairman.
  • Papers are not circulated to members absent from India.
  • Members can request a question be considered at a meeting, and the Chairman may direct it to be so considered.
  • If three or more members request a meeting, the Chairman must direct it to be considered at a meeting.
