    Review and Distribution of Operational Guidelines

    • Purpose of guidelines is to ensure review and revision of Operational Guidelines (OGs) on a periodic basis and to make them freely available to all personnel.

    Responsibility and Access

    • All personnel (full-time, part-time, and/or volunteer members) are responsible for knowing the existence and access of OGs.
    • Personnel are encouraged to be familiar with all OGs and will be held to the same standard of knowledge and acceptance.
    • The most accurate and up-to-date information can be found on the share drive, Operations/Operational Guidelines.

    Review Process

    • Review process is maintained by the Fire Chief, District Chiefs, and the Business & HR Manager.
    • OGs are reviewed at a minimum every two years, but may be reviewed more frequently if necessary (e.g., change in organizational structure, statutory change, technological change, operational change, etc.).
    • Each OG has a "created" and/or "revised" date in the lower right-hand corner of each page.
    • OGs that require no changes will still receive an updated revised date.

    Distribution and Storage

    • Primary storage location for OGs is on the share drive, Operations/Operational Guidelines.
    • OGs are available as Adobe.pdf files to prevent unauthorized editing.
    • When an OG is reviewed and changes are made, personnel are notified via departmental email, including effective dates of changes and formal training requirements.
    • District Chiefs and Company Officers review changes with assigned personnel.
    • Old, revised, and/or retired OGs are kept on the share drive, Operations/Old OGs.
