    • Reconstruction Plans: 15 multiple-choice questions (fact-based, 2 points each)
    • Lincoln's 10 Percent Plan: Offered amnesty to Confederates loyal to the Union, excluding former leaders. 10% of voters in a southern state had to swear loyalty to the Union and accept the end of slavery for the state to rejoin. The state also had to agree to the 13th Amendment.
    • Johnson's Plan: Required majority of voters to pledge loyalty and ratify the 13th Amendment. Former Confederates received land and formed new governments. African Americans were excluded from having roles in government.
    • Radical Republican Plan (Radical Congress's Plan): Union troops deployed to protect freed people. Dividing the South into 5 military districts. 15th Amendment ensured voting rights couldn't be denied based on race. However loopholes excluded some from voting based on grandfather clauses.
    • Presidents During Reconstruction: Lincoln (assassinated before his plan could be implemented), Johnson (impeached, lacked support for Reconstruction efforts), Radical Republicans (impatient with policies for African Americans and Reconstruction.)
    • Reconstruction Act of 1867: Divided the South into 5 military districts. General in charge of each district, protecting black people's rights and the right to vote.
    • Life in the South: Freedmen's Bureau (1865): Provided food, housing, medical care, schools, and aid to formerly enslaved people
    • Segregation: Segregation based on race occurred in schools, buses and public places in the south
    • Sharecropping: A system where farmers, or freed slaves, rented land and paid with a portion of their crops; often leading to continued poverty.
