Types of Clocks

• The second hand is the longest hand, which tells us how many seconds have passed in the minute.

Time of Day

• Hours between 12:00 midnight and 12:00 noon are read as A.M. (e.g., 6:00 AM).
• Hours between 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight are read as P.M. (e.g., 6:00 PM).

Reading Time

• To read the hour, look at the hour hand and the number it is pointing to.
• To find the minute, look at the number the minute hand is pointing to.
