- Unique, random number generated by Operations Control Center (OCC) to Roadway Worker-in-Charge (RWIC) before fouling a track or starting work under CTC or Interlocking Rules
Interlocking and Interlocking Appliances
- Interlocking: arrangement of signals and appliances that must follow a specific sequence
- Interlocking Appliance: movable apparatus that allows or prevents movements over designated routes, including switches, movable frogs, mitre rails, and derails
- Blocking an Interlocking Appliance: applying an approved device to the control console to prevent operation
- Securing an Interlocking Appliance: applying an approved device to prevent operation, or electrically disabling and mechanically locking the appliance in the required position
