- In 1990, she was jailed as a prisioner of conscience under orders of Fidel Castro.
- My problems with the Cuban Communist System started early on in my childhood and have continued throughout my life.
- The tragedy began when my step-mother began disagreeing with the council of state in matters of journalism, and my family was put under the scrutiny of the State Security.
- I applied for a journalist career and was sent to a lieutenant colonel of Villa Marista with a proceeding that dated back to my childhood and young adult life.
- Innumerable times I was taken against my will to see the Security of the State.
- When I was 23, I was taking to jail for writing Abajo Fidel (Down Fidel) cartel in the corner of my house.
- Cartel that I never wrote. It didn't matter to them, I was under vigilance of the police.
- I always tried to avoid havoc since I was terrified, and still am, of the constant persecution my family and I were the victim of my entire life.
- I remember the way the used to come home with AK47s and perform registration of the apartment, looking for papers, for incriminating evidence, for weapons, looking for reasons where there were none.
- The 11th of July 2021, during the Cuba Protests, I stayed at home with my kids for fear of the Cuban Repression System.
- Nonetheless, on July 14th 2021, an officer by the name of Armando Padron, came home and took me to jail.
- I was jailed for three days although they knew I wasn't involved.
- The same officer told me my best option was to leave the country, that my kids were going to grow up without me since he was going to make sure I'd have a Dangerous Proceeding - Peligrosidad, for he knew that I was an independent reporter.
- He made me sign a document of compromise to NOT to go out to the streets in case of protests.
- He finished up by saying that for the well being of my kids and I to leave the country.
- I was expelled from my job at the Cuban Cigar Factory. My family's entire story is documented with press notes and documents.
