- Affect: a subjective feeling tone
- Ambivalence: coexisting of two contrasting or opposing feelings
- Amnesia: partial or complete loss of memory
- Apathy: absence of interest or emotion in a situation that would ordinarily arouse a response
- Autism: subjective thinking with much introspection, resulting in fantasy, delusion, and hallucination
Conflict and Defense Mechanisms
- Conflict: two opposing incompatible drives or action systems requiring the individual to make a choice between possible responses
- Conversion: the expression of an emotional conflict as a physical symptom, relieving anxiety and unpleasant feelings
- Delusion: a false belief
- Depersonalization: loss of feeling of personal identity with oneself
