- Fraud or deceit in obtaining a certificate of registration can lead to suspension or revocation of a professional mechanical engineer's certificate
- Negligence, incompetence, or unprofessional conduct can result in suspension or revocation of a certificate
- Abetment of illegal practice of mechanical engineering, violation of the Code of Ethics, or policies of the Board can lead to suspension or revocation of a certificate
- Failure to comply with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements can result in suspension or revocation of a certificate
Membership in Accredited Integrated Organization
- All registered mechanical engineers, mechanical engineers, and certified plant mechanics automatically become members of the accredited integrated organization of mechanical engineers
- The integration of mechanical engineers into one national organization does not ban the formation of voluntary organizations
Code of Ethics and Professional Standards
- The Board, in consultation with the accredited integrated organization of mechanical engineers, adopts and promulgates a Code of Ethics and Professional Standards for the Practice of Mechanical Engineering
