MIDI Signal Indicator
- The MIDI Signal Indicator is a box that appears orange when MIDI data (notes, continuous controllers, etc.) is played back.
Folder Tracks
- Folder tracks are a powerful organizational tool, enabling you to manage large numbers of tracks in easy-to-manage groups.
- There are two types of Folder tracks: Basic Folder tracks and Routing Folder tracks.
- Basic Folder tracks are primarily used to organize complex sessions into more easily managed chunks.
- Routing Folder tracks combine the functionality of a Basic Folder track and an Auxiliary Input track.
Creating Folder Tracks
- Creating a Folder track is similar to creating any other track type, but with two small differences:
- Basic Folder tracks are not audible tracks.
- There is no Track Format selector.
- To create a Basic Folder track, hold the Command key (Mac) or Ctrl key (Windows) and press the Arrow keys to navigate to the Folder track type.
Adding Tracks to Folders
- To move tracks into a Folder track, select the tracks and drag them over the Folder track.
- A yellow outline will indicate when the tracks can be dropped.
- Tracks can be nested within other Folder tracks, allowing for great flexibility in organizing sessions.
Collapsing and Expanding Folder Tracks
- Folder tracks can be collapsed and expanded in both the Edit and Mix windows.
- In the Edit window, click the small folder icon in the lower left section of the Folder track to collapse or expand.
- In the Mix window, click the folder icon in the lower right-hand corner of the channel strip to collapse or expand.
Deleting Folder Tracks
- Deleting a Folder track will prompt a dialog box asking what to do with the tracks within the Folder.
- Options include:
- Cancel: Abort the deletion process.
- Delete: Delete the Folder track and all folders within.
- Keep: Delete the Folder track only, leaving the member tracks in the session.
Track Colors
- Track colors can be customized to suit the session.
- Tracks can be individually colored, overriding the default track color coding preference.
- The Color Palette window can be accessed from the Window menu or by double-clicking a track's color tab.
- Track colors can be changed by selecting the track and choosing a new color from the Color Palette window.
