Preventive Vigilance Committees (PVC)
- Formed to create awareness and prevent irregularities at operating unit level
- Comprised of 2-3 members from different sections/departments at the branch
- Acts as a catalyst in spreading the concept and practice of preventive vigilance
- Aims to prevent loss and enhance performance, similar to a 'Knowledge Circle'
Purpose of PVC
- Educate staff on preventive measures
- Identify 'weak spots' to plug loopholes in operating unit functioning
Formation of PVC
- Required at branches with 10 or more staff members (including SAM Branches)
- Mandatory at processing cells: RACPC, SMECCC, RASMECCC, TFCPC, SARC, CAC, CCPC, CPPC, DAC, LCPC, MCLAU
- Necessary at units handling back-office activities
- Required at branches rated as 'Needs Improvement' or 'Unsatisfactory', regardless of staff strength
- Mandatory at branches where a fraud has been detected, until the next Central Office Inspection and Audit
