Present Simple - Positive Statements (you/we/they)
- Used for habitual actions and things always true.
- For you/we/they, use the base form of the verb
- Example: You run every day. We listen to music on the bus. They don't read books.
Present Simple - Negative Statements (you/we/they)
- Use "don't" + base form of the verb.
- Example: You don't work at the weekend. We don't like eating junk food. They don't like cats.
Present Simple - Questions and Short Answers (you/we/they)
- Use "Do" + subject + base form of the verb.
- Example: Do you drink coffee?
- Short answers: Yes, I do. No, I don't.
Present Simple - Positive Statements (he/she/it)
- Use verb + s / es for the third person singular (he/she/it)
- Exceptions: verbs ending in -ch, -sh, -s, -x, -o, or -z , add -es
- verbs ending in a consonant + y, change y to i and add -es
- Example: He watches TV. She comes from Japan. It flies to Peru, It has lunch.
