    Present Simple

    • In the affirmative form, the third-person singular ends in -s.
    • Examples include: I drive/She drives, I go/He goes, I do/It does.
    • Used to describe habitual actions, routines, and general truths.
    • Used with adverbs of frequency such as often, always, usually, sometimes, never, ever, every day, once a month, twice a year.
    • For example: I visit my cousins twice a year. She usually gets up very early.

    Present Continuous

    • Used to describe actions happening at the moment of speaking.
    • For example: Ssh! My baby brother is sleeping. Am I disturbing you? Who's making that terrible noise upstairs?
    • Used to talk about things happening in the current period of time.
    • For example: We're studying desert plants in Biology this term. Why is he wearing that silly hat today?
    • Some verbs, like know, like, love, need, want, mean, and come from, are not typically used in the present continuous. Use the present simple instead.
