Administrative and Temporary Roadblocks
- Administrative roadblocks must have a stop sign 50 yards away.
- Administrative roadblocks must have a warning sign ¼ mile away based on policy and NRS in rural areas.
- Administrative roadblocks must be visible to traffic from 100 yards in either direction.
- Administrative roadblocks must have a flashing red light 100 yards away.
- Temporary roadblocks must have cones or flares 200–400 yards away.
Annual and Statistical Reporting
- Annual stats are compiled by November 1 from CADS (Computer Aided Dispatch Logs), UCR (Uniform Crime Reports), and SCRS (Standardized Crime Reporting System).
Oversight and Alert Systems
- The DT's Oversight Committee meets as needed, but at least every 6 months.
- PTC (Lo Jack) beeps once every 15 seconds until information is queried, then once every second for 30 minutes.
- DPS will contact NLVPD after a Silver Alert Activation after 12, 18, and 23 hours.
- The 2-page NV Silver Alert Activation form is sent to the Southern Command of NV DPS.
Use of Force and Psychological Evaluation
- Major discomfort from CS/OC should disappear within 10–20 minutes.
- A psych evaluation is required after a traumatic event or injury at 3, 6, and 12 months; the Chief can order additional evaluations.
Equipment and Procedures
- Rifle mags hold 20–30 cartridges.
- The change interval for traffic flow is 3–5 seconds.
- The Vault conducts inspections of items booked during off-duty hours around 0800, Monday–Thursday.
- Dispatch has 5 working days after a pursuit to deliver the recording of radio traffic to the field supervisor.
