- Microsoft Word is a word processor primarily designed for text-based documents like business reports, student papers, or letters.
- Word software maximizes compatibility between versions, allowing older files to be opened and saved in usable formats.
- Word offers a preview facility, enabling users to review documents before printing to correct any errors.
- Typing in Word is easier than in typewriters as the need to manually press enter at the end of a line is eliminated.
- Documents can be easily modified by adding, removing or copying text, paragraphs. Word adjusts automatically to these changes.
- Word processors offer automatic spell check and alternative words. They can also rectify grammatical errors.
- Word processors can format documents with headers and footers, create tables with adjustable rows and columns, and implement bullets and numbering.
- The Home tab contains frequently used commands in Word, including clipboard, fonts, paragraph, styles, and editing tools.
- Insert tab contains tools for: pages, tables, illustrations, links, header & footer, text & symbols.
- Page Layout tools contain themes, page setup, background, paragraph and arrangement.
