Characteristics of Salivary Gland Tumors
- Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma: characterized by perineural spread
- Benign salivary neoplasms: common symptom is painless, slowly growing swelling in the parotid region
- Benign salivary neoplasms on palpation: well-defined and firm in consistency
- Adenolymphoma: soft or cystic in consistency
Types of Tumors
- Acinic Cell Carcinoma: arises from the acinic cells of the parotid gland
- Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma: a type of malignant tumor that can arise in the salivary glands
