Nephritic Syndrome

  • Characterized by acute onset of: • Gross hematuria • Hypertension • Mild/moderate proteinuria • Edema • Oliguria

Nephrotic Syndrome

  • Characterized by: • Heavy proteinuria (> 3.5 gm/day) • Hypoalbuminemia • Severe edema • Hyperlipidemia • Lipiduria (lipid in urine)
