- Clinical manifestations of glomerular diseases are grouped into 5 syndromes.
Nephritic Syndrome
- Characterized by acute onset of: • Gross hematuria • Hypertension • Mild/moderate proteinuria • Edema • Oliguria
Nephrotic Syndrome
- Characterized by: • Heavy proteinuria (> 3.5 gm/day) • Hypoalbuminemia • Severe edema • Hyperlipidemia • Lipiduria (lipid in urine)

- Dominated by oliguria or anuria
