Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and His Contributions
- Born in 1817 at Delhi, when the Mughal Empire was collapsing
- Family had already joined the East India Company, and his maternal grandfather served in Iran and Burma under the British government
- Got interested in English from his maternal family
- Became a head clerk in 1839 after the death of his brother
- Passed examination and became sub-judge in 1841
- Established educational institutions and worked for the depressed Muslims of the Subcontinent
His Services
- Guided his community to rejoin life after the War of Independence in 1857
- Focused on bringing Muslims close to the British
- Died on March 27, 1898, and was buried in Aligarh
Sir Syed and Politics
