- The OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model is a conceptual framework for understanding how data is transmitted over a network.
Purpose and Layers
- The primary purpose of the OSI model is to enable devices from different manufacturers to communicate with each other.
- There are 7 layers in the OSI model: Physical, Data Link, Network, Transport, Session, Presentation, and Application.
Function of Each Layer
