Continuing Education Requirements for Pharmacy License Reinstatement
- Licensees returning to practice after a lapse in New York State must fulfill specific continuing education (CE) requirements.
- If registration begins after January 1, 1998, but less than three years from January 1, 1997, licensees must complete:
- At least 1.25 hours of acceptable CE for each month of lapse since January 1, 1997.
- Licensees who did not practice lawfully in another jurisdiction during the lapse must complete CE in the 12 months before the new registration period.
- Licensees who practiced lawfully in another jurisdiction can complete CE in the new registration period or within 36 months before the new registration starts.
- At least 15 hours of CE is required for each successive 12-month period of the new registration for those who did not practice lawfully elsewhere.
- Licensees who lawfully practiced in another jurisdiction must complete 1.25 hours of CE per month during the new registration period.
