Republic Act 7077 - Reservist Act
- Enacted on June 27, 1991, creating the Citizens Armed Force of the Philippines.
- Establishes three categories of reserve forces based on age and ability:
- First Category Reserve: Able-bodied reservists aged 18 to 35.
- Second Category Reserve: Able-bodied reservists aged 36 to 51.
- Third Category Reserve: Able-bodied reservists over 51.
Classification of Reserve Force Units
- Ready Reserve: Composed of citizen soldiers mainly from the First Category Reserve.
- Standby Reserve: Composed of citizen soldiers primarily from the Second and Third Category Reserves.
- Retired Reserve: Composed of citizens who qualify for retirement due to service length, age, or disability.
Citizen Soldiers
- Graduates of ROTC programs, basic military training, retired military personnel, and honored WWII guerillas are included as citizen soldiers.
- Also includes commissioned and non-commissioned officers under the Affiliated Reserves and graduates of the National Defense College of the Philippines.
