NSTP: National Service Training Program

NSTP’s Three Components

Legal Basis of NSTP

• The Act amended Republic Act No. 7077 (Citizen Armed Forces of the Philippines Reservist Act) and Presidential Decree No. 1706.

Coverage of NSTP

• All incoming college freshmen, both male and female, in bachelor's degrees or at least two-year technical/vocational courses are covered.
• State universities and colleges (SUCs) must offer at least one NSTP component.
• Specialized institutions like PMA, PMMA, and PNPA are exempt.

NSTP Dimensions of Development (SERVICE)

• Safety & Security involves disaster preparedness and drills for fire and earthquakes.
• Education includes teaching literacy and providing academic assistance through alternative learning methods.
• Recreation consists of organizing sports fests, cultural events, and entertainment programs.
• Values Formation & Moral Recovery includes ethics and leadership training.

NSTP-One Summer Program (NSTP-OSP)

• NSTP-OSP is a summer program for graduating students needing to complete their NSTP requirement.

National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC)
