North America Geography Overview

North America is a continent located between Asia on its east, Europe to its north, South America to its southwest, and the Arctic Ocean to its north—covering approximately 9.5 million square miles. It's home to several countries including Canada, Mexico, and various islands like Cuba, Jamaica, and Haiti. In addition to these territories, the United States of America covers almost all of the southern half of the continent, stretching from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast, while Alaska forms part of the northwestern extremity facing the Arctic Ocean.
