Networking
Types of Networks:
- LAN (Local Area Network): connects devices in a limited geographical area, such as a home, office building, or campus.
- WAN (Wide Area Network): connects devices over a larger geographical area, such as a city or country.
- WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network): connects devices wirelessly in a limited geographical area.
- MAN (Metropolitan Area Network): connects devices in a metropolitan area, such as a city or town.
Network Protocols:
- TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol): a set of protocols used for communication on the internet.
- HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol): a protocol used for transferring data on the web.
- FTP (File Transfer Protocol): a protocol used for transferring files over a network.
Network Architectures:
- Client-Server Architecture: a model in which devices (clients) request resources or services from a central device (server).
- Peer-to-Peer Architecture: a model in which devices (peers) act as both clients and servers.
Artificial Intelligence
Types of AI:
- Narrow or Weak AI: designed to perform a specific task, such as facial recognition or language translation.
- General or Strong AI: designed to perform any intellectual task that a human can, such as reasoning and problem-solving.
- Superintelligence: significantly more intelligent than the best human minds.
AI Techniques:
- Machine Learning: a type of AI that enables systems to learn from data and improve their performance over time.
- Deep Learning: a type of machine learning that uses neural networks to analyze data.
- Natural Language Processing (NLP): a type of AI that enables systems to understand and generate human language.
AI Applications:
- Computer Vision: enables systems to interpret and understand visual data from images and videos.
- Robotics: enables systems to interact with and manipulate their physical environment.
- Expert Systems: designed to mimic the decision-making abilities of a human expert in a particular domain.
