Head and Neck Assessment

  • Focuses on the cranium, face, thyroid gland, lymph nodes, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth

Skull Shape and Size

  • Varies by age, gender, and race
  • Abnormalities can be caused by congenital disorders, trauma, brain tumors, scalp swelling, hematoma, skin cancer, and hydrocephalus

Assessing the Head
