    NCC Structure and Training

    • NCC (National Cadet Corps) is a voluntary organization under the Ministry of Defence.
    • The Defence Minister is responsible for its functioning.
    • Headquarters is in New Delhi, headed by a Lieutenant General.
    • 17 Directorates, each headed by a Major General/Brigadier, are located in state capitals.
    • Each Directorate oversees multiple Group Headquarters (GHQs).
    • Each GHQ commands 5-7 NCC units/battalions, each commanded by a Colonel/Lieutenant Colonel.
    • Units consist of companies led by Associate NCC Officers (ANOs).
