Gamaba or National Living Treasures Award
- The Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan logo is a stylized representation of the human form used in traditional cloth.
- The logo features the motif 'Manlilikha ng Bayan' written in ancient Filipino script, which was extensively used throughout the Philippines at the time of Western contact in the sixteenth century.
Establishment of Gamaba
- The Gamaba was formally launched in 1989 with the screening of artists of Filipino crafts in the municipal, provincial, and regional levels.
- In 1990, Senate Bill No. 240 proposed the bearers of traditional art with a Presidential award, recognizing them as National Living Treasures.
Institutionalization of Gamaba
- The Gamaba was institutionalized through Republic Act No. 7355 on April 3, 1992.
