Aim: Use of multimeter, including continuity testing, voltage measurements (DC and AC), and checking components

Continuity Test: Checks if a circuit is complete. A beep indicates continuity (low resistance). No beep means discontinuity (high resistance)

Multimeter Functionality: A single device acting as ammeter, voltmeter, and ohmmeter. It can measure both alternating and direct current/voltage.

Range Adjustment: Adjusting the dial changes internal shunt resistance in the ammeter circuit, and internal series resistance in the voltmeter circuit

Apparatus: Multimeter, cartridge fuse, wire, various cells (Leclanche, Danielle, dry), step-down transformer

DC Voltage Measurement:
- Set the dial to DC Voltage mode
- Connect the red probe to the positive terminal and the black probe to the negative terminal
- The display shows the voltage reading.

AC Voltage Measurement:
- Set the dial to AC Voltage mode
- Insert probes into the secondary terminals of the step-down transformer
- Record the reading
Procedure (General)

Continuity Test:
- Set the multimeter to continuity mode.
- Touch the probes together and listen for a beep. A beep indicates the multimeter is operational. -Place probes at two points on a circuit/wire to test whether or not there is a connection/continuity
- Checking a Fuse: Test the fuse for continuity
- Measuring Cell Voltage: Measure the voltage across various cells
- Measuring Transformer Voltage: Measure the AC voltage across the secondary of a step-down transformer
Results
- Continuity: Record whether the tested components (fuse, wires) have continuity or not
- DC Voltage: Record voltage readings for various cells
- AC Voltage: Record AC voltage readings across the secondary tapping of the step-down transformer
