MS Word Essentials
- Commonly used fonts in MS Word include Arial, Verdana, and Times New Roman.
Mini Toolbar
- The Mini Toolbar appears when the user points to selected text.
Font Group
- The Font group includes buttons for changing the font and most of the font attributes.
Font Dialog Box
- If a font attribute is not found in the Font group, display the Font dialog box.
Creating Paragraphs
- A paragraph is created by typing text and then pressing the Enter key.
Page Layout
- The white space around the text on each page is known as margins.
- To define the margins of a document, click the Margins button in the Page Setup group.
Paragraph Formatting
- To make multiple adjustments to the alignment, indentation, and spacing of selected text, use the Paragraph dialog box.
- The First Line Indent marker indicates where the first line of the paragraph begins.
- The Hanging Line Indent marker indicates where the second and subsequent lines of the paragraph begin.
- The Left Indent marker indicates where the text indents.
- The Right Indent marker indicates where the text wraps.
Text Alignment
- To align each line of a paragraph at the left margin, with a ragged right edge, click the Align Left button.
- To align each line of a paragraph at the right margin, with a ragged left edge, click the Align Right button.
- To align each line of a paragraph between the left and right margins, with left and right ragged edges, click the Center button.
- To align each line of a paragraph between the margins, creating even left and right edges, click the Justify button.
