Plot

• Revolves around two Parisian teenagers, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, who transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir
• They use magical jewels known as the "Miraculous" to protect the city from supervillains
• Marinette and Adrien struggle with their feelings for each other, unaware of each other's secret identities

Characters

• Hawk Moth (secret identity: Gabriel Agreste, Adrien's father) creates akumas to "akumatize" Paris' citizens
• Master Fu: the Guardian of the Miraculous, allows Marinette to borrow additional Miraculous
• Nathalie Sancœur: Hawk Moth's assistant, uses the Peacock Miraculous to create sentimonsters
• Lila Rossi: a former classmate of Marinette's, claims the Butterfly Miraculous

Storyline

• Hawk Moth's goal is to steal Ladybug's and Cat Noir's Miraculous to wish his wife, Emilie, back to life
• Marinette becomes the new Guardian after Hawk Moth exposes Master Fu
• Nathalie falls ill from using the Peacock Miraculous, but Hawk Moth repairs it and uses it with the Butterfly Miraculous to become Shadow Moth
• Marinette reveals her secret identity to her best friend Alya
• Gabriel gains control of almost all of the Miraculous, leaving Ladybug and Cat Noir as the only two heroes
• Marinette and Adrien admit their feelings for each other and begin a romantic relationship
