Study Notes
Creating a Meditative State
- Every meditation bestows something unique, providing spiritual nourishment or wealth.
Preserving the Meditative State
- To preserve the new condition, one must become sensitive to recognize it, make efforts to retain it, and let it grow.
- This is achieved through the AEIOU process: acquire, enliven, imbibe, become one with it, and eventually reach a state of union.
AEIOU Process
- AEIOU requires only five minutes after meditation to observe oneself, recognize and become one with the condition, savor it, enliven it, and make it one's own.
- This allows the condition to grow and settle within.
Meditative State in Daily Life
- The goal is to retain the meditative state during daily activities, allowing one to carry the condition with open eyes.
- This is achieved by not drawing attention outward immediately after meditation, avoiding distractions and allowing the condition to settle.
Avoiding Distractions
- Avoid changing the outer environment, such as turning on or off a fan, immediately after meditation.
- Refrain from drinking water immediately after meditation, as it redirects attention outward.
Settling the Meditative State
- Allow the meditative state to settle within, like freshly laid concrete, by observing and feeling how it settles in the heart and system.
