  • Also known as Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma (UPS)
  • The most common subtype of MFH is a soft-tissue MFH
  • Most common malignant primary soft tissue tumour in those aged over 50
  • Typically presents as a painless enlarging soft tissue mass over months
  • Can be large at diagnosis, measuring tens of centimetres
  • X-ray appearance: partly calcified soft tissue mass
  • Important diagnostic feature: cortical erosion of underlying bone
  • MRI appearance: high signal on both T1 and T2 weighted sequences
