Ley Electoral

Also known as the Federal Electoral Law (LEY FEDERAL ELECTORAL)
Regulates the electoral process in Mexico
Establishes the rules and procedures for federal elections, including presidential, senatorial, and congressional elections
Sets out the rights and obligations of voters, candidates, and political parties
Prohibits certain practices, such as vote buying and electoral fraud

Órganos Electorales

National Electoral Institute (Instituto Nacional Electoral, INE): autonomous institution responsible for organizing and overseeing federal elections
- Ensures the integrity and transparency of the electoral process
- Registers political parties and candidates
- Conducts voter registration and maintains the electoral roll
- Oversees the counting and declaration of election results
Electoral Courts (Tribunales Electorales): responsible for resolving electoral disputes and controversies
State Electoral Institutes (Institutos Estatales Electorales): responsible for organizing and overseeing state and local elections

Sistema de Partidos

Multiparty system: multiple parties are allowed to participate in elections
Political parties are recognized by the INE and must register with the institute
Parties must have a minimum number of members and meet certain requirements to maintain their registration
Parties can participate in elections at the federal, state, and local levels
Coalition agreements are allowed between parties, but must be registered with the INE

Financiamiento de Partidos Políticos

Public financing: parties receive funding from the state for election campaigns and ordinary activities
Private financing: parties can receive donations from individuals and organizations, but must disclose the sources and amounts of funding
Regulations on campaign spending: parties must report their expenses and are subject to limits on campaign spending
Transparency and accountability: parties must disclose their financial information and are subject to audits and penalties for non-compliance
