Rehabilitation Process
- The process begins with assessing effects, identifying problems, and relating them to limiting factors.
- Then, interventions are planned, implemented, and coordinated, defining target problems and selecting suitable measures.
Rehabilitation Outcomes/Goals
- Goals depend on various factors like the condition, patient age, resources, and psychosocial factors.
- General goals include preventing loss of function, slowing its rate, improving/restoring function, compensating for lost function, and maintaining current function.
Rehabilitation Categories
- Rehabilitation Medicine focuses on improving function through diagnosis and treatment of health conditions, reducing impairments, and preventing/treating complications.
- Physiatrists and rehabilitation doctors are specialists in this field. Other specialists performing rehabilitation might consist of geriatricians, pediatricians, ophthalmologists, neurosurgeons, and orthopedic surgeons.
Therapy
