Who Can Practice Law in Saudi Arabia?

  • Must be a Saudi national or a non-Saudi national working under the terms of the Kingdom and another country.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Islamic law or a law degree from a university in the Kingdom or abroad.
  • Hold a postgraduate diploma in legal studies from public administration.
  • Have at least two years of work experience, which may be reduced if they have a master's degree in Sharia or law or a postgraduate diploma in law.
  • Must be of good conduct.
  • Not subjected to certain penalties, except if it's been more than five years.
  • Must be a resident of the Kingdom.

Registration and Licensing

  • Registration must be sent to the Law Registration and Admission Committee.
  • Decision is taken within 30 days by the majority of votes.
  • License is valid for five years and costs 2000 SR, with a renewal fee of 1000 SR.
