- Hands have been guarded since the last washing.
- According to Ashkenazic custom, if someone did not sleep all night, wash after using the restroom and then recite a bracha.
- One should dress as if standing before a king while praying.
- Minimum clothing requirements for davening is a T-shirt and shorts.
- Fancy clothes should be saved for special occasions, instead of daily davening.
- Following local customs is referred to as "Minhag Hamakom" in Hebrew.
- Generally, it is not appropriate to wear the following for davening:
- A raincoat
- Pajamas
- Dirty work clothes
