Vehicle Response Modes

  • Code 1 - Routine Response: Normal operation within state traffic laws and regulations guidelines.
  • Code 3 - Emergency Response:
    • Vehicles will make full and continuous use of all available audio and visual warning devices during emergency operation.
    • Vehicles may exceed maximum speed limits, but only if they do not endanger life or property.
    • Vehicles may proceed past red lights or stop signs, but only after ensuring a safe passage through the intersection.
