Study Notes
Survey Control and Mapping
- The Survey Control consists of Main and Subsidiary Control computations, including primary controls, secondary controls, location monuments, political boundary controls, and tertiary control computation books.
- Intersection and other reference computations books, lot data computation books, old survey computation books, and other pertinent information are also included.
Map Preparation
- Maps shall be prepared on reproducible material of stable base, such as drafting film approved by the LMB.
- Mapping conventional symbols as listed in Annex II of the Manual shall be used.
Project Control Maps
- Project Control Maps shall be prepared in accordance with Section 171 of the Manual.
Progress Map
- An updated copy of the Progress Map shall be submitted once every three months to the LMS through the Chief, Regional Surveys Division, together with the periodic report on the progress of the survey.
- The progress map shall have a location plan drawn to an appropriate scale, indicating the approximate distance of the project from the poblacion of the municipality or center of the city and showing the nearest place or point accessible to transportation.
- The progress map shall be prepared at a scale that will permit the plotting of the entire municipality of the project on 104 x 104 centimeters, with marginal lines of 100 x 100 centimeters.
- The progress map shall show forest land and marshy lands, large tracts of land as haciendas, parks, and protected areas, and other reservations.
- The progress map shall contain a table showing the total for each class of work accomplished for each month.
- The monthly progress of sketching, monument setting, and lot survey shall be shown separately on the progress map by miniature sketches.
Cadastral Maps (CM)
- Cadastral lots and other details of the cadastral survey shall be plotted on the cadastral map on 54 x 54 centimeters with marginal lines 50 x 50 centimeters.
- The names of claimants, the numbers of the concrete monuments, and the description of lot corners shall be indicated on the cadastral map, except when space limitation does not permit it.
- The respective lot numbers shall, in every case, be indicated thereon as nearly as possible in consecutive and regular order.
Survey Returns
- The survey returns shall include a report on all previous surveys, their corresponding technical descriptions, status (accepted, amended, or rejected), and the assigned equivalent cadastral lot number, if any.
- The survey returns shall include a list of unclaimed lots within the project and doubtful claims to be opposed by the National Government during registration.
- The survey returns shall include a list of all public, government, and mineral land claims within the project.
- The survey returns shall include a list of foreshore lands, with corresponding technical descriptions of previously approved surveys in these areas, if any.
Documents
- The documents shall include field notes, reference books for primary stations, location monument, and political boundary monuments.
- The documents shall include lot survey books.
