Study Notes
Monitoring and Reporting
- Policy monitoring occurs at regional and state levels using LACES reports and raw data analysis.
- A monthly checklist is mandatory for formal and informal monitoring.
- Errors should be identified and corrected promptly to facilitate timely data management.
- Documentation should include detailed notes and not just checkmarks for accuracy.
- Changes to the checklist include saving Table 4 and referencing new instructions.
Funding Eligibility for Graduates
- Graduates must complete 12 hours in a Program of Study (PoP) to qualify for funding.
- Use the Additional Tab to select all diplomas/credentials for fiscal year graduate lists.
- NRS Participants can be found under searches, ensuring only fundable students are listed.
- Specific classes and services that do not count as eligible include non-ESL classes and certain preparatory programs.
Secondary Programs Requirements
- Family Literacy students need a primary Family Literacy designation and a secondary program like GED/ESL.
- Vocational Rehabilitation students must list Voc Rehab as their Secondary Program.
- ESL students pursuing GED must have Adult Education GED listed as their secondary program.
Last School Attended Information
- Complete name of the last attended high school is required for students aged 16–21.
- Do not use acronyms or online platform names; only include schools that awarded academic credits.
- Include the city and state of the last school, or only the country if outside the U.S.
- A unique Student ID is mandatory for students who previously attended public schools in South Carolina.
Transcripts and Student ID Requirements
- Transcripts and a Student Unique ID (SUNS) are required for students aged 16–21, with exceptions noted.
- The State ID is a critical identifier from the transcript and must be entered in LACES.
- If the State ID is not available, alternatives should be documented in the Student Unique ID field.
IEP/504 and Testing Accommodations
- Updates require entering specific disabilities for students with IEPs or 504 plans in the demographics section.
- New options for documenting Learning Disabilities have been introduced, allowing for better tracking.
- Comments should be added to record specific testing accommodations required by students.
Goals and Assessments
- Family Literacy goals for GED/HSD are optional and not considered for funding.
- GED assessments are automatically recorded under Education; HSD must be manually entered.
- WRC assessments must be entered under goals to ensure funding eligibility.
Credential Management
- A drop-down feature allows filtering for any non-reportable WRC credentials already entered.
- SC Custom Transcript updates now include an option for Dual Enrollment.
