Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • The Kansas City, MO Police Department's EAP is administered by Personal Assistance Services (PAS) and provides assistance to Department members, their spouse or domestic partner, and anyone living in the member's household.
  • The EAP helps with work and non-work related issues, including marriage, children, stress, emotions, finances, 30 minutes of legal services, legal documents, healthy lifestyles, and personal growth.

Eligibility and Cost

  • Eligible covered persons can receive short-term care with the EAP at no cost.
  • Department members enrolled in Department-sponsored health care plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City also have mental health benefits available to them, with applicable co-pays/deductibles applying.

Confidentiality and HIPAA Guidelines

  • Department administrators will not be provided with the identity of individuals seeking information about or participating in the program, in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
