Ju-Jitsu Duo Rule Book Overview

Athletes must follow the specific guidelines for competition clothing and appearance outlined in the JJIF Sporting Code (SC).

Competitors who fail to comply with the competition dress code will not be allowed to start the match.

Competitors have a two-minute timeframe to adjust their attire and comply with the dress regulations after being notified of any violation.

Athletes must wear a judogi (gi) that adheres to the specifications outlined in the SC, with all couples wearing red belts during the qualification rounds.

Female athletes are required to wear a white or black leotard or rashguard underneath their judogi jacket. Male athletes are also allowed to wear these items, and the wearing of a hijab is permitted.

Protective gear, like forearm, knee, foot, and shinbone protection, made from soft materials is allowed, but must be worn under the judogi.

Athletes are permitted to use a jockstrap and a mouthpiece during competition.

When athletes use weapons during their presentation, they must be made of soft materials or rubber and the stick should be between 50 and 70 cm long.

If there's a tie in the medal phase's face-off, the red couple will show their top two attacks again.

If there's still a tie after the red couple's second show, the blue couple will show the same two attacks they did before.

When a tie continues, the blue couple will show their top two attacks from a different set of techniques called Serie B.

This process of showing attacks keeps going until one couple has more points and wins.

The top four couples from the qualifying stage advance to the Medal Phase.

If three couples are tied for fourth place, six couples go to the Medal Phase.

If more than three couples are tied for fourth place, an extra tie round is held to decide who goes to the medal phase.
