Early Life
- José Rizal was born on June 19, 1861, in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines
- Seventh of eleven children to Francisco Mercado Rizal and Teodora Alonso Realonda
- Family was considered middle-class; father was a farmer and a merchant
Education
- Attended Justiniano Aquino Cruz's school in Biñan, Laguna (1869-1870)
