John the Baptist Prepares the Way

  • John the Baptist preached in the wilderness of Judea, saying "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" (Matthew 3:1-2)
  • He wore camel's hair and a leather belt, and ate locusts and wild honey (Matthew 3:4)
  • People from Jerusalem, Judea, and the region around the Jordan came to him, confessed their sins, and were baptized (Matthew 3:5-6)
  • John rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducees, telling them to produce fruits of repentance (Matthew 3:7-10)

John Baptizes Jesus
