Job Opportunity: Information Management Officer

Job Overview

• Position: Sub-Cluster Information Management Officer for Gaza Education Sub-Cluster.
• Location: Gaza Field Office - Deir al Balah, with potential for relocation based on priorities.
• Duration: Initial contract of 6 months, with possibilities for extension.
• Urgency: Applications considered on a rolling basis; early submission encouraged.

Organizational Context

• Reports to Deputy Director Programme Development and Quality, with technical support from SCI National Education Cluster Co-Lead.
• Save the Children (SC) and UNICEF are Co-Leads of the Global Education Cluster.
• The Inter-agency Standing Committee (IASC) employs a cluster approach for coordinated humanitarian response.

Current Situation in Gaza

• 17 years of blockade and recurrent conflicts undermined education infrastructure.
• Ongoing hostilities (since October 7, 2023) have prevented access to education for 625,000 children and 1,800 TVET trainees.
• Significant effects on children's mental health and psychosocial wellbeing due to conflicts and displacement.

Role Objectives

• Support Gaza's education sub-cluster in managing information collection, analysis, and sharing.
• Foster coordination and collaboration among partner organizations within the cluster.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data collection efforts (5Ws - who, what, when, where, for whom) to map service delivery.
• Train partners (especially National NGOs and CBOs) on enhancing information management and reporting.
• Develop and update dashboards to visualize data, identifying service delivery gaps.
• Engage in coordination meetings at both Gaza and national levels.

Strategic Planning and Analysis

• Develop a strategy to address education cluster needs in alignment with national context.
• Maintain a secondary data tracker and coordinate needs assessments for informed planning.
• Provide training on Joint Education Needs Assessment (JENA) for partners.
• Analyze multi-sectoral needs assessments for Educational in Emergencies (EiE) data.

Capacity Building and Advocacy

• Create tools to assess partners' preparedness for emergency responses.
• Support advocacy efforts through data visualization and reporting on Ed in Emergencies needs, focusing on marginalized children.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• University degree in relevant fields (statistics, education, social sciences).
• Minimum three years of experience in data management/analysis in humanitarian programs.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, with experience in Excel and data visualization tools preferred.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
