The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is one of the most important competitive exams held in India. It's conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for students who seek admission into undergraduate engineering programs in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other centrally funded technical institutions. This article provides an overview of the JEE Main question paper, with a focus on the subjects covered - physics, chemistry, and mathematics - and the exam format.

Physics
Physics is a crucial subject in JEE Main because it forms the foundation for many branches of science and technology. Topics covered include classical mechanics, electricity and magnetism, thermodynamics, modern physics, electromagnetic induction and alternating currents, electrostatics, wave motion, optics, quantum phenomena, atomic structure, nuclei, semiconductors, photovoltaic devices, superconductivity, solid state, surface coatings, chemical kinetics, equilibrium, redox reactions, solids, liquids, gases & their solutions, chemical thermodynamics, electrochemistry, general principles and processes involved, etc.
Chemistry
Chemistry is another significant part of JEE Main due to its wide applicability across various fields. Exam Format
Type of Questions
Questions can be multiple choice questions (MCQ), numerical value type problems (NVTP), or both. MCQ consists of objective type questions where the candidate has to select the correct option from the given choices. NVTP involves single numerical answer questions. For NCERT textbooks, candidates will have to solve numerical type problems based on different chapters of class 11th and 12th physics, chemistry, and maths.
Duration
Usually, the duration of the JEE Main examination is three hours. However, for certain categories such as PwD candidates, there may be extra time allowed depending upon the level of disability.
Sections
In JEE Main, each section carries equal weightage. So if you attempt all sections, you have a better chance of success. Moreover, some aspirants prefer taking multiple attempts to increase their chances of getting a higher rank.
