The Last Year of the Prophet's Life
- The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed the Hajj with tens of thousands of Companions in the last year of his life.
- During this time, Allah declared that the religion had been perfected and that Islam was the only valid religion in the sight of Allah.
The Prophet's Illness and Death
- The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began to have a headache on the 27th day of the month of Safar in the year 632.
- His illness progressed, and the Companions were very upset.
- The Prophet addressed his Companions, saying that he would meet his Lord, and that no prophet had stayed forever among his ummah.
- Three days before his death, his illness became more severe, and he asked Hazrat Abu Bakr to lead the prayers.
- Hazrat Abu Bakr led the Companions in 17 prayers while the Prophet was ill.
The Aftermath of the Prophet's Death
- The Prophet's death was announced on Monday, the 12th of the month of Rabi al-Awwal.
