Typing Key Functions

• Accurate typing requires correct positioning and posture.
• The posture should ensure ease of movement in the wrists and hands.
• The hands should be positioned on the keyboard so they're not elevated or lowered too much from the keyboard's surface.
• Fingers must be fully curved, as if the arms are relaxed by the sides.
• Pressing keys needs to be done with finger tips.
• Fingers should remain on the main keyboard keys unless required to press keys in different locations.
• Positioning the hands slightly resting on the "knuckle" position over keys "k", and "sh" is optimal.

Calculating Typing Speed

• Typing speed is calculated by dividing the total number of correctly typed words by the time taken in minutes.
• A common error rate is 2 percent or less of any typing text.
• 10 words are subtracted from the total count for each mistake.
• This is done to calculate the final speed in words per minute.
