Scope
- Orientation procedures apply to all Detention Personnel.
Intake Lobby Orientation
- A deputy informs inmates of the rules and expected behavior during intake.
- Inmates watch the Intake orientation video during the intake process.
- The inmate signs the back of their inmate movement card during classification to show they watched and understood the video.
- If an inmate refuses to sign, the deputy signs, noting the inmate viewed the video but refused to sign.
Housing Unit Orientation
- Prior to moving to a housing unit, inmates in Intake view the facility orientation video.
- If an inmate did not view the orientation video while assigned to Intake, they must view it before moving to a housing unit.
- The video is usually available on channel #122.
- Upon arrival at a housing unit, the receiving Deputy informs inmates of any unit-specific rules.
- Inmates are told where the inmate handbook is located.

Combative Inmates
